Love Finds You In Golden New Mexico (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

This was a sweet story. it drew me in from the beginning.I dealt with a little heartbreak during the story right alongside Madeline Mercer, the main character. When her world flipped over, my angst, fueled from righteous indignation, ignited. As even more misunderstandings led to prejudicial judgments, fires of frustration grew. If not for the calming presence of the old miner, the emotion of the story might well have spiraled out of control. His wit and wisdom calmed me down, too! While I liked the old miner, others might consider him preachy. He did lay it on pretty thick and that got a little tiresome at times.I will add that while I enjoyed the book, it seemed to end too quickly and the ending went on too long. I don't enjoy falling action that goes at the speed of light, but chapters of tying up loose ends after the climax becomes rather tedious. Still, I would recommend the book to those who enjoy their romances in the old west. Love Finds You in Golden, New Mexico is a wonderful book that takes place in 1890. Madeleine Mercer answers an ad for a mail order bride when her father dies suddenly and his business partner threatens he is going to marry her whether she wants to or not. Phillip Smith placed the ad for a mail order bride presumably to have someone to take care of him in his old age and illness. When Madeleine arrives there are many questions about her past. But she wins over Phillip instantly and gradually wins over his good friend, Jeremiah. The secrets of her past try to overshadow her new life in Golden. Can the friends she has made there protect her from the evil that is chasing her? Read and find out!
