L'uomo A Ventiquattro Zampe. Sette Vite Con I Gatti (2008) - Plot & Excerpts

After years of being a self confessed dog lover and shunning all cats (mainly after one bit me when I was rubbing its belly) I have discovered that I actually rather like cats, although I appear to be allergic to their fur. Anyway, I came across Tom Cox's My Sad Cat twitter and i've been following The Bear et al for a while now and was all too excited to find that he actually has three cat related books out. I really enjoyed the author's account of how he acquired six cats and moved around the countryside looking for his ideal home for him and his cats. If you have the right sort of humour, you'll love this. As soon as I finished I ordered the next two in the series. I bought this book in an Amazon promotion, and am rather glad I did. I am not a Cat Man as the author is, but I did own a cat until recently. Reading this book reminded me of that dearly missed moggy. The book itself is written in a welcoming, conversational tone; some points it did embrace the cat-lovers dogma a little but it was worth it for the wry anecdotes and digressions in to 'cat voice.' The alternation between chapters of memoir and buzzfeed style list was a bit hit-or-miss for me and especially later felt a little like padding. All the characters, human and feline, are well realised and while I know I, nor anyone, will ever know The Bear, I feel that I know the depth of my not-knowing.I would recommend to friends as a light-read, and certainly to those missing a feline friend.

What do You think about L'uomo A Ventiquattro Zampe. Sette Vite Con I Gatti (2008)?

Certainly not great literature but highly amusing and an absolute must for everyone who loves cats.
