Moon River 4 starsSamantha Moon is working with a detective on the bizarre killings that have recently turned up on the local jogging trail. Her friend, Detective Sherbet, has told the new detective everything about Samantha including her being a vampire, which by the way she still has a hard time coming to grips with seven years after her attack. Detective Sanchez believes that the recent attacks could be from another vampire and feels that she’s the best person to help with the case. When Samantha discovers who the killer is though it’s obvious that everything is not as it seems and that the case could very well be a trap. A trap that not only puts Sam in trouble but her family as well.Another great addition to the vampire for hire series. Samantha’s inner dialog is still funny as hell and I really like the fact that Allison has become more of a prominent character and has started to come into her own powers. My only complaint and it’s really nothing against the book itself but I wish Samantha and Kingsley would get their damn act together again. Stupid werewolf! Please note that this book is part of a series and should really be read in order. In this novel, Samantha Moon has to confront several past enemies, her ex-husband, ex-boyfriend, and a nest of murderous vampires. Some things get wrapped up, but Sam doesn't seem to catch a break. This vampire mommy is starting to lose her humanity, but she has awesome friends to help her hang on. I love this series, and can't wait to see what happens next. I would recommend this author to others.
