Pete the Cat has returned again for another wonderful story. In Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses, Pete awakens in a bad mood. He is grumpy until he finds a pair of magic sunglasses. The sunglasses really improve his mood and he feels groovy and at ease. Pete runs into some friends as he takes a stroll and allows them to take advantage of these magic sunglasses. Everyone has the same reaction. The sunglasses make them feel groovy and not as grumpy. You can use the book in literacy to teach the importance of conveying emotions. As writers, it's important that our readers can really feel what is happening. This book is all about emotions and it tells how the characters are feeling both before wearing the magic sunglasses and after. For some reason Pete the Cat isn't feeling very happy. He's never been grumpy before so he doesn't know what to do. When Grumpy Toad drives up on his motorcycle, Pete is afraid things are only going to get worse. But, to his surprise, Grumpy Toad offers Pete some COOL, BLUE, MAGIC sunglasses and wouldn't you know, all of a sudden everything is great. "The birds are singing. The sky is bright. The sun is shining. I'm feeling alright."Pete feels awesome and begins to ride his skateboard. He comes across many other animals that aren't in very good moods. Pete always stops to help and when the animals put on the COOL, BLUE, MAGIC sunglasses things get better for them, too. But, disaster strikes when Pete falls off of his skateboard and breaks the COOL, BLUE, MAGIC sunglasses. How in the world will he ever be happy again? Thankfully, the Wise Old Owl is around to set him straight. Pete doesn't need the glasses. He just needs to remember to look for the good in every day. The advice does the trick and Pete the Cat is happy again.This is another great Pete the Cat book. One to definitely add to your collection.
