Sequel to "The Hunter", not quite as compelling & dynamic as that ride was, but still first rate & 5 stars for this format. Cooke added various creative devices in the story-telling this time to keep it fresh , i.e. The "book within a book" moment with the magazine account from "Richard Stark" of the casino heist. This graphic novel was so much better than the heavily compromised hollywood movie of "The Outfit" with robert duvall from 1970s. Lol. GO BUY THIS BOOK!!! Parker is back, and this time someone is out to kill him. Our anti-hero figures out that it is someone in the Outfit trying to get him back for his reclaiming of the money they took from him. Parker than hatches on a plan to get the outfit back and shutdown the plot to kill him. This second volume in the Parker series is a page turning read. The original story from Stark is trilling and tense. The illustrations by Darwyn Cooke only add to the tone of the story. The choice to use only one colour to accent the illustrations adds to the historical tone of the illustrations.Brilliant. A must read.
The Hunter was amazing. This is even better. Awesome, awesome stuff from Cooke.
