I absolutely loved this book. I found both the plot as well as the characters riveting in every aspect. I quite enjoyed the relationship between Maria and Phillip and I was definitely glad when Phillip eventually stopped worrying so much about titles and was able to see what was standing right in front of him. I could definitely see myself reading not only this book again but I would also loved to read more from this author. Pride and Prejudice, part of the Girl-Bachelor series (see And Then He Kissed Her): h is a bit unconventional in that she makes her living as a chef who starts up her own bakery--unfortunately next door to the man who broke her heart by ending the engagement between her and his younger brother many years ago. Lots of emotional angst on both sides as we learn that H has secretly loved h for years and the differences in their stations in life threaten to keep them apart.
This one was ok till the very last few pages and then it was like ARRRGHHHHHHHHHHH
