Russ Harris breaks down the techniques of ACT into clear practical concepts and exercise that make it simple for the layperson to understand and apply. He writes in a very conversational style that is quite accessible. If your looking for a new take on reducing anxiety, increasing mindfulness, and finding strategies to do more of what you value in life with less worry and depression, I recommend it. Excellent book. I was very skeptical as someone who's struggled with depression a lot that I would agree with the things in this book. I found it to be very realistic and helpful without promising you miracles. I feel that nothing truly makes problems disappear, only helps you to deal with them constructively and I think this book helps you on your way to doing that. Good luck to anyone who needs it and reads it.
A very practical, sensitive and empathic explanation of ACT therapy.
