First off I want to give a massive thanks to Bloomsbury and Netgalley for approving me to read and review The Mime Order early. Especially because I finished The Bone Season 24 hours earlier. So being able to jump right into the sequel was a huge relief. Now first off I want to mention that I put off reading the Bone Season for a year because of all the hype surrounding the book. Plus I don't typically read Adult fiction (I'm more of a YA reader) but The Bone Season was just the book I was looking for and I'm so happy that it was the first book I read in 2015. The Bone Season is one of the most intricate, complicating and intriguing worlds I've ever read. Nevertheless, I think The Mime Order did an amazing job of living up to The Bone Season, and now I'll be impatiently waiting for book three.PROS:1. Paige - OMG this woman is AMAZING. She is by far one of my favorite female characters of all time. She is so fierce, smart, witty and just all around awesome. One of my favorite things about Paige is her resiliency. She is a fighter and no matter who crappy the situation is she just doesn't give up. 2. Pacing- The Mime Order definitely grabs readers and keeps them on their seats. Paige is constantly putting herself in very high stake situations. She was meeting with Rephaim, Sheol I fugitives, and other mysterious individuals behind Jaxon's back in order to save everyone. 3. The Romance- OMG I am shipping Arcturus and Paige so freaking much. The progression of their relationship fits their dynamic so well. There is no insta-love (Thank God!) instead its pure chemistry mixed with such a deep physical and emotional connection. CONS:1. There wasn't enough Arcturus in the sequel. But hey when he did enter the picture, heck yes the feels!2. I wasn't a huge fan of the first few chapters. I felt that after the groups escape the books pacing moved a bit to slow for my taste. But I sear guys just hang in their because things turn around before you know it.Overall I loved both The Bone Season and The Mime Order and I highly recommend this series to everyone. The Mime Order was packed with so much and then that ending OMG Samantha REALLY?!?!?! Holy guacamole. I need Book 3 ASAP!! Thanks to Netgalley.com and Bloomsbury USA for early access to this title. This book is TOO LONG! It could have been told in half the pages. I did enjoy the story and the characters. It builds very nicely on the book before. But the book never ends. It really drags on and kind of kills the suspense element. I'll most likely read the next one to find out how the story is finally resolved, but I hope it gets better editing than this one did. If you liked the first one, you'll enjoy this one - just be prepared for a rather long slog.
What do You think about The Mime Order (2000)?
An incredible follow up to the first book! Definitely worth being excited for!
