Heather Killough-Walden is an amazing Author. In my opinion an amazing Author writes books that capture you and you just can't seem to put the book down until you have finished it. That is what happens to me when I read one of her books. In the Big Bad Wolf series we were introduced to a set of amazing characters. Lily and Daniel. Malcome and Charlie. Lucas and Dannai. Byron and Kat. Lalura, Jason and many more. In the Vampire King the first in the spinoff series to the BBW series introduces us to Roman and Evie. We get more from Lalura and Jason. We get a bit of an introduction to Thanatos and a brief look at the other kings. In The Phantom King we focus on Thanatos and Siobhan. Thanatos rules purgatory. He is there to help all of the lost souls who have died wrongful deaths. There are Thirteen Kings who have each led lonely lives because they have not been able to take mates. Lalura a very old witch gets a vision that all Thirteen Kings will find their Queens. A spirit comes into Thanatos Realm and refuses to stay. This is the first time a spirit has left his Realm. Thanatos has to find him and bring him back. Being the Phantom King he does not require much sleep, but when he does sleep he dreams of a woman with Red Hair. Imagine his suprise when he finds out the spirit he is looking for is in the house of the very woman he has been dreaming of. Siobhan is a Warlock but she was not raised in the Supernatural world. So she learned to hide her powers from everyone. She refuses to use her powers for evil which makes her a rare Warlock. The Akyri need Warlocks to survive.. The feed off of their power. The Akyri King has his sights set on Siobhan. He will stop at nothing to get to her. Thanatos will stop at nothing to save her and claim her as his own. Also in The Phantom King we see alot of our old friends the wolves. Mainly Dannai. We get to imagine her babies comming into the world and we find out about her parantage and what a suprise that is! I have to admit Jason ends up being a force to be reckoned with and made a major change from the Warlock we knew. He proves to be a great ali. I cannot wait until The Warlock King comes out!I got the book Yesterday and once it was on my Kindle I did not put it down until I was finished! Thank you Heather for writing such amazing books! Another fantastic addition to this series. Really love Heather Killough-Walden's writing and imagination. She never ever disappoints. Such great stories. Can't wait to find out where this story goes next. And the fact that all of the characters from The Big Bad Wolf series participate throughout and we get to find out how their lives and/or stories continue. Love the whole promise for this series. Twelve kings being matched up with twelve queens. So interesting with all the various paranormal creatures. Next up the Warlock king's story and one of interesting characters from The Big Bad Wolf series and I'm so excited for his story finally.
I like these a lot but they definitely have a formula. Still, Iwon't stop reading ;)
