What I wouldn’t give for a glass of wine to soothe my frayed nerves right about now. Seeing as how it’s eight o’clock, Tessa has long since gone to bed and my husband isn’t answering his phone – I think I have the right to be upset. Aiden called to tell me to save him dinner, but that was the last I heard from him. I realize his job is important, but I cannot stand when it comes with a lack of communication. It isn’t just him and me anymore. I finish packaging the last of the Christmas cookies to give away and wrap tin foil around the platters that are staying here. Thankfully, Lily was bored and stopped by today. She watched Tessa while I baked so that I didn’t fall behind. Like I said… she’s a godsend. The sound of the garage door grabs my attention. Glancing at the clock, I note that it is now quarter to nine. Aiden has been gone for over seven hours. Bastard. “Sorry, I’m late,”
