Immortal war was okay book. I think the ending made you more interested in the series then the last few books. I almost wanted more books in this series or a better epilogue. I also thought his book was kind of random at times. I think that too many characters were killed or turned into vampires. The plot was not well done and was sometimes very random. I think the first three to four was the best ones. The Vampirates saga concludes with this underedited tome in which too many people die with not enough denouement and not enough bad guys die with too much denouement for each one except for the major ones. We endure battle after battle but little is explained. Grace finds a book that only dhampirs can read that explains about a prophecy in which one twin must die so that the war will end. Grace is devastated but understands about the greater sacrifice. She's become a great and powerful healer, and will do what she needs to do to ensure that the Pirates and Nocturals are victorious. The problem with this book is that connections were lost. Not by death but by events moving too quickly. When all is said and done, it's only been a year. Connor and Grace have come into all their power and changed the course of the oceans inside of a year. That's a lot for two teenagers to have done and detracts a bit from the believability of the story. Grace went from being a guest of the Nocturnals to being the most powerful dhampir alive. That seems a little far fetched even if their father was Sidorio. The end comes on very fast, too fast to realize it's happening, and too fast to realize it's over. I would have prefered fewer battles and more insight but that's just me.
Couldn't finish it - way too many characters, way too much going on, overall poor and sloppy story

Not sure it felt like the end of the series. Too many endings left open.
