Adventurers Wanted, Book Two: The Horn Of Moran (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
I have strongly mixed feelings about this book. It was incredibly high-fantasy, which I love, but the writing style of the first half of the book just about killed me. It would just blatantly state things that I'd already figured out from the sentence before. While complaining to0 my friends, they insisted that it was because this book is targeted more towards middle school children. I'm still not entirely sure if that's a valid reason, though. Middle school kids really aren't that ignorant.Things really picked up in the middle, however, and I found myself reading as much as I could. And then, suddenly - climax.Except it wasn't.It just felt like it should have been. This meant that the actual climax of the book felt a little, well, anticlimactic. But I made it through, so three stars for at least keeping me interested enough to finish without totally having to force myself through. Wow another action packed adventure, Alex just keeps getting deeper into being a Wizard, in fact the best wizard in a thousand years. Of course this does come with a price but Alex is will to pay. Magic, evil, danger, long quests are all part of the adventure. Alex finds he is on his way to becoming a billionaire. I cannot in good conscience reveal even a small bit of this adventure as I want you to read it for yourself. Enjoy.
