Bear Feels Scared. Karma Wilson (2008) - Plot & Excerpts
In the same vein as Bear Snores On and Bear Stays Up, author Karma Wilson has brought a wonderful addition to the Bear stories. I especially love the illustrations of the wind swept grass and how the tension increases as the pictures get darker with night approaching. That contrasted with the warm colors inside his cave are really wonderful. What's most touching is the cover and why all the animals are huddled together. It wasn't an ideal bedtime story. Even Little Miss, who rarely gets scared, became frightened and rambunctious. But the animals are cute, warm friends who help each other. The rhythm/rhyme was pleasant and the repetition effectively done, making it enjoyable to read out loud.It did seem a bit silly that the giant Bear was immobilized by fear of dark and storm ten feet from his home, but it was a cute story.
What do You think about Bear Feels Scared. Karma Wilson (2008)?
Cute book where friends support Bear when he feels scared. Loved the rhyme.
