Bleach, Vol. 33: The Bad Joke (2008) - Plot & Excerpts
Okay, at first I wasn't really expecting this battle to go well. Weirdo Tongue-man Nnoitora appears, and fights Ichigo. His buddy Tesla keeps hold of Orihime off to the side, but then spots the missing Nel. Nnoitora notices her too, and we find out he knows exactly who she is. Switching in between parts to see both battles, Renji and Uryû struggle to fight the insane Szayelaporro, since running away didn't exactly work out too well for them. He eats his sword, (BLAGH!) and transforms into what kind of looks like noodles. I think noodles would taste better than a sword. He makes clones of each person, but with slight variations. (Ha Pesche is wearing pants! *GASP!* XD). After that they kind of just explode and then Szayelaporro makes voodoo dolls of Uryû and Renji, torturing them by snapping various body parts and organs.Back to Nel's situation, we find out that she used to be an Espada, (the third one to be specific) and had her head cracked open by Nnoitora, making her a child and lose her memory. Realizing who she is, she transforms back into her adult figure, and fights Nnoitora while the readers get a few flashbacks.Supposedly Pesche and Dondochakka were dedicated to Nel, AKA Nelliel, but how in the world did those nitwits protect her? They can't even protect themselves! Bawabawa might be the only explanation, but still, that's insane that they protected her. Pesche and Dondo take over their battle in order to get closer to Nel, since they could sense her transformation and will to fight. Nel (or Nelliel, but I like Nel better), is about to release her Zanpakto (sorry if that's spelled wrong) but the volume ends before that. The preview's picture looks really awesome with only the eyes showing of the 4 Captains, Zaraki, Kurotsuchi, Byakuya, and Unohana. It looks really cool!I'm a little surprised that Ichigo didn't try to Hollowfy right away again, because he seems to be doing that a lot...Over half way done and I'm determined to keep reading!! I really loved this volume because it was pretty layered. As Ichigo is fighting, we learn some things that are relevant to Renji's fight, and so forth. At the end, things are tied up beautifully and we get the full history of a few of our new villians. So, we start this volume with the battle between Ichigo and Nnoitora. Dude, this guy is creapy with all that tongue action (ha). As they are fighting, Nnoitora sees Nel hiding and beins to fight her. We find out that Nel used to be a former Espada but she lost all of her memories in a fight with Nnoitora. While he is attacking Nel, she regains her true form and her memories (the silly Hollows that she was with where protecting her- it was a sweet flashback at the end). So, she turns into the a boobalicious tarzan girl that kicks ass! Seriously, her boobs are ridiculously ginormous. But because Ichigo saved her and has been nice to her, she fights for him and protects him (even though she nearly kills him in a hug). They are still battling at the end of the volume.Renji and Uryû are still battling the oh-so-disturbing Szayelaporro. This dude is one sick mothafucka. They have to fight clones of each other, voodoo dolls are made of themselves and organs crushed one-by-one, and so forth. The guy is sick and nearly invincible. When will the serious Soul Reapers arrive to kick some nasty Arrancar butt?? At the end of the volume, one of the silly Hollows protecting Nel, Dondochakka, spits out Bawabawa so that he can end the battle. I nearly died with laughter!
