Bleach, Vol. 49: The Lost Agent (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
First of all, the cover. Ichigo is very hot on this cover, what with all the extra shading and the cool serious look. As cliche and fangirly as this sounds, I really want an enlarged poster of this picture of Ichigo. :3Another thing that is related but then again not related to the specific volume is that I absolutely hate time skips. I had to have a big 7 year long time skip in Fairy Tail, so I was not happy to learn that there was also another one in this series too. Even if it is just a year, it's so annoying to look at a character and almost not recognize them because they have a different hairdo. -_-Ichigo is probably the only person who's hair stayed the same, which is good because after that whole trauma with the long black hair I would probably mentally kill him. We now see how Ichigo would be living if he never had Spirit energy, and shockingly (to me) he is actually quite content with his normal life. Although this sounds like peer pressure, if all my friends and family are involved with the spiritual world and beings, I would want to be involved too. Living for over a year and not seeing any ghosts would make me feel like I'm missing out on something and I'd practically go crazy.Ichigo seems to get on everyone's nerves, (like usual) except his close friends, and even his boss had to kidnap him to get him to work. He meets a strange man named Kugo Ginjo, who is human but can manipulate the soul's of inanimate objects. Hm. This volume made me laugh very hard, and I figured that this would be one of the easy-going, humorous volumes, until Uryû gets catastrophically injured by Kugo, (but no one knew that), and Kugo convinces Ichigo to meet up with him for some explanations. For some reason he wants to help Ichigo get his Soul Reaper powers back, (don't know how well that will blow over though, now seeing how happy Ichigo is with a normal life), and then suddenly Chad appears! O.oAnd he has a kinda scruffy face... o-oEveryone is suddenly calling Chad, Sado, and I know that's his real name but I prefer the nickname Chad. ^.^Although this is all exciting and interesting, but I want to know what happened to the people we haven't seen for a while. For example: Nel, (and Pesche and Dondochakka), the Visoreds, some of the Soul Reapers like Renji, and I want to hear what some people think about Ichigo like Chizuru. She probably doesn't understand any of it anyway...That's a little weird too, that all of Ichigo's friends would take the information of Ichigo being a former Soul Reaper wouldn't bother them at all, and they wouldn't have questions.Huh, oh well. People have different relationships for friendships than me, so I guess it's normal for them to be cool with anything.Even Karin didn't bring anything up to Ichigo again, and before she was screaming at him for info. :/Maybe I'll see all those people in the next volume...? Probably not. :( Wow, this volume is great and feels so much like the beginning of the series. The first couple arcs of Bleach still rank among my favorite manga, and this volume definitely restored my interest and love for the series. The characters are a little older and more experienced but still are as fun and sometimes zany as ever. I'm really glad I've finally come back to catch up after losing interest a few years ago during the never-ending arc with Aizen. This is much more the Bleach and awesome characters I fell in love with. I can't wait to see what the mystery will be and if we'll finally get more information on Papa Kurosaki (I hope so; he's always been my favorite.).
What do You think about Bleach, Vol. 49: The Lost Agent (2011)?
Beginning of the new arc. Plus 17 months. Many things have definitely changed, but not everything.
