Originally, when I finished this book I gave it four stars here on Goodreads and quickly clicked over to my next To-Read. Then I thought about it overnight and realized that this wasn't that great of a novel. The first one was great, a cool though experiment in parallel universes, A.I., and creature-building. This one, however, sometimes felt silly and contrived. The characters weren't as fully developed as they could have been and the narrative ignored much of what was interesting about the first book, instead focusing on completely unrelated side stories. I'll still probably read the third book, "The Long Mars," but if it doesn't pick back up, I probably won't finish it. Much like its prequel this book was full of interesting ideas and exploration of the Long Earth, but the actual plot just kind of meandered on. I enjoyed the characters and the stories about them, but I kept waiting for the War.The climax came rather quickly and I'm still not sure how necessary the climax was. I'm curious if all of this is build of for the Long Mars or if it will file suit.Still even mediocre Terry Pratchett is a great read and I find it interesting, just not overly compelling.
What do You think about Długa Wojna (2014)?
A little disappointed. It somewhat rambled and could have done with some editing down.

Last 100 pages were pretty good, first 400 were absolutely not. Avoid.

Dull as ditchwater. So, so boring. So unbelievably boring.
