The story is, as previous reviews have explained, really good but in a more "build up for the finale" kind of way. I would have given the book 4 stars because that is how good it really was. Then you get to the point where you realise that this book was probably proof read in a hurry to get it released, there are spelling and grammar errors as well as some duplicate sentences all over. Not so much towards the end luckily or I might have been upset with breaking the imagination train of thought with bad sentences. Grade lowered one step because of that. Good book! A Crown Imperiled continues the final Riftwar series with the invasion of the Kingdom by The Empire Of Kesh in full swing... or is it, while other forces align whose intentions are yet known. Our heroes are spread about the land either fighting for their lives or fighting to find answers as to who really is in charge of the chaos enveloping Midkemia and what they really want. There are a lot of players in this game both human and supernatural and it is only by Raymond Feist's deft story telling skills that we are able to keep up as he brings his epic Riftwar series rocketing toward it's finale. There are far too many details to really give a good plot description, suffice to say that a lot is happening and there are a lot of characters involved with new ones entering the picture constantly. This all seems pointing to a spectacular conclusion in the next book and Feist sets it up here without completely letting us in on what to expect. A really intense read that wets the appetite for what is to come.
Wow! Pug and Magnus gone? I hope the protection that was set does work. Oh Boy!
