The warning in the beginning of the synopsis should not be taken lightly. This book has no HEA, but there is a second book coming and I hope Elsa and Victor will get their Happily Ever After, finally!! I love a good dark erotic romance, so I was definitely ok with the darkness in this book, but I need that romance element also. The combination of the two just feeds my soul for some reason. This book had more dark than romance, but there was still those small moments that Victor aka Mr. Black, was romantic, and it kept me on the hook. And, since I know there is a second book, I am hopeful that the Author will give us what we want. So, I eagerly await book two. The characters: I love that Elsa is strong and such a fighter. She definitely changed the game for Mr. Black and I loved it. Victor aka Mr. Black was just want you want in an alpha sadistic bastard. Beautiful, detached, cold, ruthless, egotistical, yet romantic at times, with a guarded heart. The steam level: On a scale from 1-5, 1 being very little sex with no spark. I give a * 4 *The storyline: This was a very interesting storyline. We have seen the stories with the alpha offering a proposition and the woman signs the document, but this was a bit different. I liked that he had a journal of his chapters (affairs), and loved the suspense of everything. I am definitely reading book two! This is a dark Jekyll and Hyde tale that will have you cringing and longing in the same breath. If you do not like dark , do not read!! I am in such a shock I will have to come back and review . Holy wow Ella. Holy wow.When will we be graced with book #2?? I was not expecting to fall in love with Victor ...I have a love/hate relationship with him right now. I will stick to my opinion of this being a Jekyll and Hyde wonderfully dark novel!"Yes. Mr. Black is erratic and capricious." If you enjoy something out of the norm ...and get a bit tingly with the darker reads...please buy and devour !!
