Adeline collapsed backward on the bed, panting slightly before answering. “It would serve that bitch right. I can’t believe she gave me these jeans. I haven’t fit into these since I graduated from college. We used to fight over them constantly.” She stood and walked carefully towards me before collapsing into my arms. I caught her easily enough, supporting her weight with my arms as I walked her backward to the bed and let us both fall.
