I really, really like the ideas in this book. The way Brown portrayed mermaids and their true nature was definitely different from the majority of mermaid/fairy-tale books, and I liked that. From Goodreads reviews, I was expecting it to be much more horrifying than it actually was - but then, maybe I'm just abnormally okay with the "gore" and "violence" this book contained? (I'm putting them in quotation marks because I really didn't think it was that severe.)Basically, the ideas were good. The writing, however, was maybe average, or slightly on the better end. Nothing too fantastic. I'm rating it three because of its writing. Overall, a really decent book. The ideas were far more than enough to keep the average writing good and interesting, and I read it in one go in two, three hours. This book is freakin awesome! I love it! I can't believe Calder left Lilly, but then again, it would be best for them. I love this book, I am planning to read the next book, hoping that these two will be back together. I somehow suspected that Calder was related to the Hancocks. But OH MY GOSH Anne she is such a wonderful storyteller. I can't believe Jason is a "merman". I was even more shocked, when I realized the actual truth of the story of their mother and Tom. I hate myself for skipping the confessions. I couldn't stand those two fighting (Calder and Lilly). I hated when they "broke up", I was so frustrated. I felt even more frustrated that at the end, when they weren't going to stay together. I felt so disgusted by Tallulah and her feelings towards to Calder. Oh my gosh, I wanted to kill her. However, I did feel sad though when she died, or I think she did. Yes I skipped that too, I couldn't stand Lilly close to death, I was having the same panic attack Calder had, when he saw her there. I seriously wanted to kill Maris when she did that. But I kind of felt sorry for her at the end during the last talk she had with Calder. Anyways I am just completely amazed by this book. I love it! I love it!
What do You think about Le Baiser Des Sirènes (2013)?
Une très belle histoire que je commande ! Personnages très attriant tout le long .
