The House At The End Of The Street (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
This book was really interesting, disturbing but interesting. Elissa was a good female protagonist, Ryan scared the crap out of me, and Elissa's mom gave a good moral to the story. There were lots of family struggles and problems, as well as problem with drugs and substance abuse. But overall the overcome of these issues gave the story a good and positive message, that I think all teens and parents should take into account. This was a really good book. It is about a girl named Elissa. Her and her mom leave the big city to live in a quiet house in the country. The only reason they can afford to rent their new house is because of the house next door. The couple living there was murdered by their own teenage daughter, who then disappeared. Elissa has made lots of new friends at school and even makes friends with her neighbor Ryan. He still lives in the house where his sister killed his parents. Elissa connects with Ryan and helps him get through what happened. After getting to know Ryan a lot. Elissa begins to wonder if Ryan's sister is actually gone or if she is hiding in the woods.I rated this book 4 stars because it was really good. One of the things I liked about it was that you always don't know what will happen next. So I always just wanted to keep reading it to see what happened next. I love books that are like that. It also had lots of action and was really scary too. The reason I only rated it a 4 though is because on some pages I didn't really understand it. Other then that it was a really good book.I would recommend this book to people who love books where you don't know what would happen next. This book has that on pretty much every page. It also was way scary. So I also recommend this book to everyone who likes scary books too. I love scary books so thats one of the reasons I liked this book.
