What an absolutely great novella! Susan Fanetti expands on an incident that happened in the previous book (Alone on Earth)when MC leader Isaac Lunden nearly dies when he is betrayed by a club member. Great writing showing the true love that has developed between Isaac and his wife Lilli. The scene when she washes and braids his hair while he is lying paralysed in a hospital bed is heartbreakingly beautiful. A series where you truly experience the gamut of emotions from the deepest pain to the purest love. Wow...this was such a beautiful and inspirational story of finding your way back against really tough circumstances. At the end of Book 4 we are left with the devastating shooting of Isaac and since that book deals more with Bart and Riley's love story, we never really got a chance to see what Lilli and Isaac went through.I wanted to cry at some parts and then at others, I wanted to chuckle at the humor to be found in how these two warriors handled the tragedy. There is one particular scene in the hospital that was just breathtaking and sensual...and it all involved hair (not going to say more) but it was really touching and perfect. Another moment between them is so freaking HOT...it is amazing how much love and commitment these two continued to share even in their darkest moments. This was a lovely little book and very uplifting.***** 5 ***** "live free and ride or die" stars =)
