“I’m telling you, man. You were smart to take yourself off the meat market.” Alex Dare shook his head. “I don’t think it was a completely conscious decision. Took one look at Madison and that was it for me. Believe me, up until I met her, I thought I was pretty happy feasting on the banquet of beautiful women here in Miami and Tampa and…basically everywhere else the team traveled.” Until an injury had sidelined him forever, Alex had been quarterback for the Tampa Breakers. In retirement, his career had veered into a sports commentator role. One that fit the man well. “Yeah, well, I think it’s time for me to push away from the feast. I’ve hit my limit.” Alex laughed. “Jesus. Are we going to talk in metaphors all night? What the hell is wrong with you? You’ve only been in Miami a year. You can’t have already worked your way through all the available women our fine city has to offer.”
