Decent enough effort that gets a lot of mileage from readers' investment in the show Castle and the "reputation" that the character Derrick Storm has from that. The whole time I am imagining Richard Castle writing this piece with all the over-the-top ridiculousness that goes along with that. I can't say how this would stand on it's own without the tie-in, but I can only guess that it would suffer if you were not a prior fan of the show. The cover art is great. The inside art is reasonable. The art does improve throughout the book. The story is very interesting. Not great, but entertaining. Now I am going to nitpick about the typography. I found the typewriter like font too harsh when Derrick Storm was thinking to himself. I assume you are supposed to believe the author is typing out the story. I do not think it works all that well.
An enjoyable enogh way to spend a Sunday afternoon but nothing out of this world

Meh overall. Art was good, failed to pace itself at the end.

Great development/build-up, poor climax/cliffhanger.
