I enjoyed the action parts of the book more than the romance. But it was still entertaining to read, and so I finished it in a day. Haha!Series note: I missed Blake and Neil. There were just a few mention of the former, and not enough of the latter.. And though Carter and Eliza's story was my least favorite, I wished they could be given a part two story, or just a few "What's new with the couple?" scenes.Ho well, papel. 4.0 Hot body guard starsARC generously provided by publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This was my first Catherine Bybee novel, and this is the fifth book in the series. I did not find that to hamper my reading this book in any way. Yes characters from previous books are in this series but each book is more or less a stand alone book. I will say however that it has peeked my interest enough to know I will be going back and reading the other books.Judy Gardner has just graduated from college and is now taking an internship in LA to hopefully help her on her way to becoming a building designer. However her internship doesn't pay but luckily for her, her ultra famous and rich brother lives in LA and is seldom ever home and wants her and her bet friend to live in his house. However this also comes with his body guard, Rick, who has made it very clear that protecting Judy is not the only thing he wants to do. Judy is very attracted to Rick, however she has a life plan and she will not let a man derail that plan. Then something happens to make Judy reevaluate a few things and she sees Rick in a whole new way.I really enjoyed this book. I love an alpha male and that is Rick, but he is not abrasive or rough to take. He really has fallen for Judy and he will do anything to protect her and keep her safe.No this is not some deep read that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat, but it is really enjoyable and has great characters and is just fun.
