The Tehran Initiative (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

After a long hiatus from Rosenberg's shirazi series, I cam back to Tehran initiative and the Twelve Imam and end them back to back. What I like about it. That it's 'real' or at least seems like it in today's context. It's a reality I can follow from what we've heard and read in the news. Some of it may be historical based, and most of it is still fictional but you can see a thread of narrative. . A lot of it is based on what Rosenberg follows from his biblical understanding of the last days, I don't know the Last day prophecies well enough to comment on its accuracies but, I do like that it is in that respect somewhat based loosely on a religious book I respect. Assuming the average reader doesn't buy into the Bible, it's at least interesting to see Rosenberg weave the story based on some reality and some historical artifact. . It is somewhat 'Christian', I use somewhat because it isn't a Christian book that tries to be evangelistc in its agenda. I appreciate the internal conflicts that rosenbeeg tries to express thought his characters nWhat I feel Ho-hum about. . It's is Christian, there's the narrative thread of Shirazi knowing more about Jesus and salvation. I'm that happens for him, but I'm not sure how convincing I find that plot. . As a Christian book, there's some imperative for a happy ending - this couldn't be farther from the truth when the main character decides to follow Jesus. All that to say, I still enjoyed it tremendously for its Middle East based Muslim/western civilization conflict and narrative plot and would recommend it. Couldn't put it down. And it encouraged my faith in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. And the reality of the great spiritual battle going on today. Satan is doomed, but he wants to take as many with him as he can. This disturbed me and causes me to focus my prayers on the salvation of my family and friends especially, and that of those who are blind and deaf to the truth of the gospel. May The Lord lift satan's curtain of disinformation and send him to hell as soon as possible. The evil in this world is frightening. Still, He who is in me is greater than he who is in this world.
